  • Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root (usually titanium) that is surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by a periodontist. Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, replace multiple teeth, secure a dental bridge or anchor a full set of dentures. After an implant is securely placed, the body's natural bone and gum tissue will grow around it to hold it securely, just as it would a natural tooth root. When it is a tooth replacement, a crown is attached to the implant to complete a strong. natural-looking new tooth. For bridges or dentures,. the appliance is attached to implants which serve as anchors in the jaw. Dental implants are strong and durable and will last many years. In fact, today's dental implants have an amazing 98% success rate.

  • All-on-4®: Dental Implant Treatment

All-on-4 is exactly what it sounds like: all of the teeth in a full arch of dentures are permanently held in place by 4 dental implants. Dental implants are artificial tooth roots most commonly made from titanium, a super-strong metal. When implants are placed into the jaw, natural bone grows around and fuses to the titanium. With All-on-4 procedure, the healed implants are strong enough to provide a secure anchor for a full, permanent set of dentures. Performing the All-on-4, Dr. Aldredge uses computerized imagery to strategically place the four dental implants in healthy, adequate bone to ensure the best integration. Your full set of new teeth will look and function like your natural teeth. No gaps, no slipping, and the strength to bite and eat whatever you choose.

  • Pinhole® Surgical Technique

Dr. Aldredge has attended the Chao Pinhole Academy in Los Angeles county, CA, and is the only periodontal surgeon in the Holmdel area to be certified to perform the Pinhole Surgical Technique to repair receding gums. The Pinhole Surgical Technique, or Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation™, is a non-invasive procedure, unlike traditional gum grafting therapy. Your gum recession is corrected with very little swelling and is generally healed within 24 hours. There are generally no post-operative physical restrictions. In many cases patients comfortably eat dinner on the same day as their treatment. The Pinhole Surgical Technique is a non-invasive procedure to repair gum recession. Dr. Aldredge uses a needle to make a small hole in the tissue above the affected tooth or teeth. Using special tools, he is able to guide gum tissue (gingiva) until it once again covers the root surface of the tooth.

  • LANAP® Laser-Assisted Gum Treatment

LANAP eliminates the cutting, grafting and sutures of traditional surgery. Instead, Dr. Aldredge uses a precisely focused laser beam to clean bacteria, debris and diseased gum tissue away from healthy teeth and gum tissue. The LANAP treatment creates the ideal conditions the body needs to heal itself. Soon, gum and bone tissue will regenerate and reattach to teeth, holding them securely in place with renewed support and protection. LANAP results in less bleeding, less swelling, and less discomfort during and after treatment because it is minimally invasive compared with conventional surgery. The LANAP procedure takes less treatment time than traditional surgery, generally two 2-hour visits and follow-up verus four surgery sessions, removal of sutures, and follow-ups.

  • Sedation Dentistry

The most popular types of dental sedatives are nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation. Different levels of sedation (mild, moderate and deep) can be utilized depending on individual needs. Before administering any sedative, the dentist must analyze the full medical history of the patient, taking note of any current medications. Sedation dentistry is popular because most sedatives can be taken by mouth, meaning no injections, no anxiety and no pain. Some sedatives work so effectively that even the smells and details of the procedure cannot be recalled afterwards. Safety and compliance are two important aspects of treatments, so sedation dentistry offers both the individual and the dentist the best alternative. Whatever the form of sedative, it is essential to be accompanied by a caregiver. Sometimes, sedatives are provided the night before the dental visit, which means that driving to or from the appointment is not advisable.
